UNCONDITIONAL--THERE'S SECURITY

Just to know that there's nothing we can do to earn God's love is satisfying. To think of His powerful love for us is reassuring. To imagine His love as a liquid filled to the top of the glass that cannot be added to, that cannot be filled to anymore, well, it's unimaginable. Yet that's exactly the kind of love God has for us. And it's all told in song, "Jesus loves me this I know".

Yet our Lord is holy. That means He's above reproach. That means He cannot tolerate, He cannot be around sin. He and sin simply cannot co-exist on the same plane.

So how that works is like this. God loves us unmeasurably. But if we have unconfessed sin in our lives, we can't be in His presence. We are separated from Him. A quote, actually one that is misquoted often is "all things work for the good." What many forget is the part that adds "for those who love Him." It comes from Romans 8:28 and also adds"who have been called according to His purpose."

There are conditions to be met for unconditional love. Huh? That's right. If you want God to be for you, then you have to be for Him. And when you are, then He is. And that condition makes all the difference."
